The twosome met during the production of The Light Between Oceans.

“We met on that job and have been seeing each other since,” Fassbender later told Good Morning America. “She’s such a fierce performer. She’s so brave. She’s not afraid to bring ugly personality traits to the forefront in characters. So I was really impressed by her immediately.”

The twosome made their first appearance as a couple at Formula One Grand Prix in Monte Carlo.

While there were reports in late 2015 that the duo pulled the plug on their romance, they proved to be going strong in February 2016 when Vikander kissed Fassbender after winning an Oscar for The Danish Girl.

The spouses made a rare red carpet appearance at the Cannes Film Festival in France weeks after she opened up about struggling with infertility and a miscarriage before welcoming her son.

“I get, like, so excited [during Michael’s races],” Vikander exclaimed during an appearance on the Late Late Show With James Corden while discussing his newfound passion for racecar driving. “I remember in the beginning, I thought I was going to be terrified but instead I go up there and I’m like, [screaming] ’You go!’”

The twosome stepped out the Cannes premiere of Firebrand at the French film festival.
