I bought this game some time back for cheap. Looked pretty atmosphereic for a top down game.

Whoa. Looks like they're shifting from sci-fi to Mountains of Madness/eldritch-type horror?
Stasis 1 was fantastic
Edit: indeed going Lovecraftian with this one. Should probably add that change to the title

Stasis was very cool. The same goes for Cayne. I'll get this for sure.

Bischoff also said on Twitter that it's set in the same universe and deals with the fallout from the first game

I really enjoyed the first one. Happy to see that it did well enough to warrant for sequel.

The Brotherhood are based in South Africa and they've been doing really cool shit in what has recently been a thriving indie game dev scene in our country. Excited to see where they go with this, and they once again seem to have nailed the art and atmosphere.
Feels like Dead Space meets Sanitarium meets At the Mountains of Madness.

Hey STASIS backers!
Chris here! Due to the gracious support of backers, we've raised almost 22,000 on
STASIS 2 - [STASIS: BONE TOTEM]
STASIS: BONE TOTEM</b> is a thrilling and spine-tingling journey into the unknown fathoms of the icy ocean and the terrors that await a family. They will uncover a threat far beyond their wildest dreams.
stasis2.com
at which point you will no longer be able to get your name in the game, name in the credits, or a discounted launch price. There are only 300, EARLY BACKER SPOTS left - https://gumroad.com/l/mhOjd
If you haven't checked out our current work-in-progress, STASIS: BONE TOTEM, and you enjoyed STASIS, then you will love this adventure!
Salvaging duo, Charlie and Mac scour the ocean for a living. They hit the motherload and come across DEEPSEA 15; a seemingly abandoned Cayne Corporation rig in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. We have added three playable characters, reminiscent of DAY OF THE TENTACLE. They must work together to escape a watery tomb.
We've launched a demo of STASIS: BONE TOTEM on Steam. This has been updated constantly with player feedback and we are fairly happy with it! Give it a try when you have an hour to spare.
Links: https://www.stasis2.com/demo/ If you want a direct download (Non-Steam version) you can also visit here: https://thebrotherhood.itch.io/stasis2
DON'T FORGET TO WISHLIST ON STEAM (Every wishlist helps us)!
Excitedly, GOG has confirmed that they will be our DRM free partner, so you can expect STASIS: BONE TOTEM to be on GOG Galaxy.
Our development update page is here: https://stasis2.com/updates/
Always excited to hear from you, feel free to drop me an email or tweet me @stasisgame
Much love,
Chris

Loved Stasis. Loved loved loved. Liked Cayne. Backed Beautiful Desolation and didn't really feel it. I'll try this demo for sure but hopefully they're doing something a bit different.

I backed their previous games but don't quite get to what purpose they are gathering money this time? Will they cancel the game if not a certain amount is raised?

Oh, I thought it was a raffle for a nice horror game, I feel kinda dirty having won it FCFS. Would it be ungentlemanly to return it so you can raffle it?

As much as I loved STASIS, I felt like some of the writing left a lot to be desired. Was Beautiful Desolation better in this regard? Also, perhaps by sticking to a Lovecraft script, all of their strong suits will be available in full (atmosphere, gruesome puzzles, incredible sense of exploration.)
Actually, now that I think about it, STASIS was fucking really incredible except the random journal logs.

So any impressions on this about the writing? Came out in May. I saw SirKai make the help thread and was curious.

I'm about halfway through it and I am fucking loving this game. The personal diary/log entries you find are extremely dense and excellently done, and the three lead characters are all outstanding. Mac and Charlie both have some diametrically opposed personalities and sensibilities (Mac is extremely cautioned and devout; Charlie is much more rationally/skeptically minded and risk-taking) but their voice work and dialog is so natural and they have wonderful chemistry. I'm gonna try and finish the game either tonight or tomorrow night.
Note that I have not played the first Stasis or anything else from this studio.
